Recreation Programs

Hatfield Township offers programs to help keep youth and adults active and interested in parks and recreation. You can find specific program information—dates, ages served, fees—and register for programs on our Pool & Recreation Online Registration Site. Please note this will take you to a new site. The following is an overview of the kinds of programs we offer throughout the year:

Hatfield’s Summer Rec Camp
Serving families for more than two generations, this summer program puts experienced playground leaders in charge, so kids get a daily dose of sports, games, and crafts. Sessions are held weekday mornings with the option to extend through lunch and the afternoon. Full-day Rec Camp includes time at the new Hatfield Aquatic Center, field trips and guest speakers.  Click here for more information

Instructional Programs
To keep the parks’ sports courts, fields and facilities active, we bring in instructors and offer group lessons or experiences in areas of interest that include  golf, tennis, aquatics and Good Owner Dog Training.

Organized Walking and Bike Stroll "Mini Events"

With exercise and camaraderie in mind, we organize casual recreation programs in walking and bicycling to encourage people to make these a part of their normal daily lives, and to showcase some of the pedestrian-friendly trails and neighborhoods we have in our bounds.  Specific dates and times are set to encourage commitment, and a Township staff member oversees the experiences, to provide structure and support.

Themed Camps
One-week experiences in themed programs are part of our offerings to youth each summer. Pony care, a mixed sports sampler, and nature appreciation are examples.

Opportunities for the Very Young

Our soccer clinic in spring and fall is a popular program for families with 3, 4, and 5 year olds. We have experiences for young children with their adult partners, where both explore interest areas such as zoology and science together. Our programs in Ponyshare, tennis instruction and mixed sports have been expanded to accommodate children as young as 3. Musik Kords for preschoolers has been a hit with toddlers through age 4, who attend with their adult companions.

Naturalists and Conservationists
Programming by the Shade Tree Commission and the Environmental Advisory Committee has tapped into public interest in back yard composting, harvesting rain, pruning trees and exchanging perennials. Keep alert to these opportunities by signing up for the Township’s monthly e-news.

Hatfield Aquatic Center
With a competition-fitness pool and a leisure pool, the new aquatic center offers fitness, and recreation opportunities to a wide range of ages and abilities. More information on the Hatfield Aquatic Center.

Bus Trips
Our chartered motor coach may run north to Broadway or south to Camden Yards, with reservations and logistics handled for you by the township staff trip coordinator.
