The Hatfield DARE Unit was started in 1991 and has enjoyed much success over the years. The DARE unit is comprised of Sgt. Michael Diamond, Officer David Busch, and Sgt. Jeffrey Boyd. Throughout the school year, the officers teach to ten-week program to approximately 300 fifth -grade students in the township’s four public and non public schools. The officers promote student self-esteem as well as how to handle peer-pressure and the consequences of drug use. Their motto is “Dare to be different”.
