Fire and Life Safety Inspector
Hatfield Township is accepting applications for a part-time FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY INSPECTOR in the Safety and Code Enforcement Department. The Fire and Life Safety Inspector shall perform inspections of all occupancy types to evaluate and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, codes, standards, and ordinances relating to health, safety, and welfare as adopted and enforced by the township. Prepare inspection reports given agency policy and procedures and observations from an assigned field inspection, so that the report is clear and concise and reflects the findings of the inspection. Ensure complete and accurate processing of inspection activities, and providing correspondence, answering telephone and providing friendly customer service. The inspector shall also have the ability to interpret technical information in the performance of responsibilities; secure facts, document information, evaluate data, and draw valid conclusions; identify unsanitary, unsafe, or hazardous conditions; resolve violations; and obtain public cooperation.
High school diploma or equivalent with an Associates Degree in Fire Science or related field preferred. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft software. Knowledge of relevant codes, and regulations; and the principles, practices and techniques of fire inspections and code enforcement. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships. Conduct inspections in all types of weather under varying conditions; occasionally will lift or move objects over 25 lbs.
A minimum of 6 years of firefighting experience with current FFII, VRT, Hazardous Materials Operations Level, and NIMS ICS 100 and ICS 200 certifications. 2 years of fire inspection experience and Fire Inspector I certification with Fire Inspector II preferred.

Hours: 22-26 hours weekly
Salary: $15.50 - $17.00 hourly DOQ
