Family Movie Night, With Optional Fitness Walk – July 16

The live-action family film "Where The Wild Things Are," a fitness walk and healthy snacks will be part of a family event Friday evening, July 16, at the Hatfield Community Park, 2500 N. Chestnut St., Hatfield, PA. Bring your own seating or ground covers. Gather at the park pavilion to step off at 8 p.m. with an optional walk around the park and on the Chestnut Street Trail. The walk concludes just before dusk, in time for the movie on a big screen, rated PG and running 101 minutes. The film centers around a lonely eight-year-old boy named Max who sails away to an island inhabited by creatures known as the "Wild Things", who declare Max their king. The parks and rec staff will also make healthy snacks available, as part of their work in partnership with WISE SNAC.
The event is offered to the general public at no charge, thanks to sponsorship by the Hatfield Chamber of Commerce. Children under 12 should be accompanied by a guardian at least 16 years of age. In the event of rain, the event will be in the Hatfield Township Municipal Building, 1950 School Road, next to the Community Park.
