Golf Lessons
Twin Woods Golf Course
Instructor Bob Huber will teach grip, stance, posture, aim, and course etiquette. Adult fee includes practice at Twin Woods. Juniors who reach proficiency play on four holes during the last lesson. Register online or download a registration form.

Dog Training for Families
These experiences, led by Good Owner Trainer Kelly Krager, are at the Hatfield Township Dog Park within the Hatfield Community Park, 2500 N. Chestnut St., Hatfield. Proof of the dog’s immunizations for rabies and canine distemper is required prior to admittance to class. Fees are per dog. Any number of family members may attend with the “student”, provided at least one of them is an adult.

Structured Play NEW!
Four Sundays, July 11, 18, 25 and Aug. 1 – 12 noon to 1 p.m. Participants hear advice and tips for keeping dogs safe in group situations, take part in warm-up activities in the “tender dog side” of the Park and receive coaching to blend in with the general population in the “bold dog side” when appropriate.

Bully Breed Class NEW!
Four Sundays, July 11, 18, 25 and Aug. 1 – 11 a.m. to noon. Dogs with behavioral problems receive attention designed to help them with socialization skills, resource guarding issues and manners.

Puppy Class NEW!
Four Sundays, July 11, 18, 25 and Aug. 1 – 1 to 2 p.m. Dogs old enough for immunizations and up to 2 years old receive help on house training, potty training, chewing, leash walking, and socialization, in the Dog Park and on the adjacent Chestnut Street Trail.

Little Zoo on Wheels SeriesNEW!

Ages 3 to 5, with a responsible guardian age 16 & over
Mondays, June 21 to July 12
3:15 to 4 p.m.
The Philadelphia Zoo presents this engaging program for pre-schoolers and their guardians, which includes live animals and touchable artifacts. Fee: $40; Additional siblings $20. Register online or download a registration form.


Hatfield Recreation Camp
Hatfield Community Park
Ages 5 to 12 (as of June 15, 2010)
Monday through Friday
8 Weekly Sessions, June 21 to August 13
Experienced playground leaders supervise children in arts & crafts, sports, and games. Campers are divided into two groups, ages 5 to 8 and ages 9 to 12. The fees for the afternoon and full-day programs include camp lunch, field trips, special activities, and two days per week at the Hatfield Aquatic Center (weather permitting). A child must register for a minimum of two weeks during the season. Online registration is not available for this program. Tuesday, June 29 – 1 to 2:30 p.m. This one-day, 90 minute program includes an introduction to safety, grooming, career opportunities, and a short riding component.

Mad Science Camp, Secret Agent LabNEW!

Become a Mad Science Secret Agent and take a fascinating journey into the world of spies, detection, and classified information. Junior Police Academy
School Road Park
Ages 9 to 15
Tuesday, August 24, 2010
Check in: 8 to 8:30 a.m.
Program: 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Spend the day with the officers and professional colleagues of the Hatfield Township Police Department and get a feel for police work. Program topics include self defense, physical agility, and first aid training. Participants will see demonstrations by Montgomery Township K-9, PSP helicopter, and North Penn Tactical Team. Funded by the Police Benevolent Association, the Academy is free to the first 50 Hatfield Township and Borough residents who register. Snack and lunch will be provided.
