We are dedicated to a greener township for a healthier world.
Residents in Hatfield Township are required to recycle glass, aluminum, #1 and #2 plastics, and newspapers. To assist residents in their recycling efforts Hatfield Township offers several recycling programs.
Free Recycling Bins
Hatfield Township offers free recycling bins to all residents. You may pick up your free bin at the Hatfield Township Municipal Building from Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The costs of the bins are covered by the Department of Environmental Protection Act 904 Funds. Hatfield Township receives annual 904 funds each year based on the amount of recyclables collected in the township.
Apartment Recycling Assistance
Hatfield Township offers a multi-family dwelling recycling program for those residents living in the over 2,000 apartments in the township. Most residents living in apartments do not have space for the large recycling bins used by homeowners. Through a Section 902 grant from the Department of Environmental Protection, the township was able to purchase smaller recycling bins that come with a handle. These bins are available at the Hatfield Township Municipal Building, along with an educational recycling handout.
Everyday Recycling Classroom Program
If your family were graded on its recycling efforts, would you get an “A” or an “F”? That’s what Pennfield Middle School students are asking their elementary school peers in 2008, as part of a joint effort with Hatfield and Towamencin townships to improve the overall municipal recycling rate. Find out more about the Everyday Recycling Program, and download the brochure and report card.
Pick up and Drop-off Programs
Hatfield Township also offers pick up and drop off programs for corrugated cardboard, yard waste, leaves, tree branches, and Christmas trees. |
