The Public Works Department performs routine and emergency maintenance on township roads throughout the year.

Upcoming & Current Projects
The township will be completing a resurfacing project on all roads listed on the 2008 Road Improvement Plan, see below. Construction will take place in June and July. Only one direction will be able to pass at a time during construction. Please drive carefully and expect minor delays.

Walnut Street Traffic Calming Project
In response to resident’s concerns, the Board of Commissioners has approved a trial traffic-calming project on Walnut Street. Improvements lane transitions and shortened lane widths, as well as sidewalk reconstruction and creation of a recreational trail. These improvements are designed to slow traffic to 25 MPH, making the residential road safer. Download the concept plan by McMahon Associates.

The project has received positive feedback from residents, and has piqued the interest of other municipalities. If the test project is successful, Hatfield Township will look into implementing similar projects on other roads.

Road Improvement Plan
To ensure all roads in the township receive attention, Hatfield launched a ten-year road improvement plan in 1999. Based on that plan, the following roads are slated for improvement over the next 3 years.
