2991 Walnut Street, Colmar

Visitors to this 2-acre passive park area will find a small cabin nestled among mature shade trees, with a meandering stream and a footbridge. Built more than 50 years ago by local scouts, the cabin became a Hatfield Township acquisition through the Montgomery County Open Space Program. Colmar Troop 229 continues its program at this site, but the new park will also be used by the township to schedule nature workshops and other events fitted to a rustic setting. The site grounds are open to the public during the regular park system hours of dawn to dusk. Day use of the cabin is by prior arrangement.
